Information about Songs for Eurovision
With an impressive 2nd place in 2005 (Chiara - Angel) and in 2002 (Ira Losco - 7th Wonder) and a 3rd place in 1998 (Chiara - The One That I Love) and in 1992 (Mary Spiteri - Little Child), the Eurovision Song Contest is a very important yearly event in Malta.
Every year Malta participates in the Eurovision Song Contest and in the Junior ESC with a song which is carefully chosen some months before during the Malta Song for Europe.
This sub-category collects the top songs from Maltese singers which participated in the Malta Song for Europe. The results in the Eurovision Contest clearly show that the Maltese music consistently obtains a high level of recognition and most of the competing songs in the Malta-organised Contest are consistent with this recognition.
