Made in Malta - Guns for Malta DVD

During the Second World War, more than 14,000 tons of bombs were dropped on the tiny island of Malta, damaging or destroying 30,000 buildings. Yet the besieged Allied forces operating from Malta were instrumental in altering the course of the whole war.
DVD is packed with archive action, including A.A. Gunner Stan Fraser's private cine film.
The documentary accompanies Spitfire aces Bob Middlemiss and Laddie Lucas along with Hurricane pilot Don Stones together with Canadians, Germans and Italian Pilots to discuss the air war.
Her Majesty the Queen is featured at the dedication service of the memorial bell. The bell was commissioned by members of the George Cross Island Association to act as a permanent memorial to the 7,000 men, women and children who gave their lives during the battle.
This documentary, shot on location in Malta, vividly portrays why the island was awarded the George Cross. "Guns for Malta" is considered to be the most complete film record of the siege.
