Victoria Heights - Chardonnay of Gozo
Victoria Heights wines are made entirely from grapes grown on the idyllic island of Gozo, Malta's smaller sister island, that is said to have been where Ulysses was held for seven years by the nymph Calypso. Gozo is a slightly greener island than Malta due to its clay based soil. Victoria Heights wines have been skilfully produced and are lightly matured in oak barrels for a short period of time in the Delicata cellars. The majority of these boutique vineyards lie on the gently slopes and terraced fields underneath the island's capital city of Victoria, with its impressive Citadel built by the Normans.
A soft, fruity full flavoured dry white wine produced entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in the valley vineyards of Gozo. These selected pocket sized family run vineyards growing these hand picked Chardonnay grapes are carefully tended throughout the year. The result is an attractive, slightly honeyed barrel matured white wine full of character and subtle vanilla flavours.
