Medina Vineyards - Merlot
The ancient walled city of Medina (Mdina) was the capital of Malta until the founding of Valletta in 1566. The city passed from a vibrant, lively place to a sleepy "city of silence" set atop fertile agricultural valleys below. The Medina Vineyards collection of wines is produced from grapes grown all over the island but predominately from those grown in the surrounding area beneath this fantastic silent city. All of the grapes used are grown in selected pocket sized vineyards and are hand picked. The wines are all fresh and fruity in style and are ideal for drinking with or without food.
The Maltese Merlot grapes are concentrated and fruity and produce red wines with ripe flavours and good structure. With the use of modern winemaking equipment and technology Delicata’s winemakers have produced an unoaked Merlot that is full flavoured, fruity, soft and appealing. Serve at room temperature and ideally allow to breathe before drinking. Ideal with red meats, past, rabbit dishes, poultry, pizza and strong cheeses.
