The history of brewing in Malta dates back to 1928 when the Islands' first beer, Farsons Pale Ale, was launched, marking the dawn of a new era not only for Maltese brewing, but for Maltese industry as a whole. Since then, a whole range of quality beers has been developed and Farsons' beers are now the mainstay of the local brewing industry.
Nowadays, the Maltese beer is very popular and is exported to various countries around the world. Furthermore, the Maltese beer namely the Cisk Lager and the Hopleaf Pale Ale is still very popular with the locals and with the visitors who visit the Islands. The local beer has won numerous prestigious International Awards which confirms the genuine Maltese product when compared to International products. Beer is produced in two sizes (33cl and pint versions) both in glass bottles and in cans.
