English - The plot of the story starts in the UK, where Margaret used to live with her single brother and her child Anthea. However Margaret finds herself in Malta to meet and rejoin with her husband Joseph, who returned from a war prison in Italy.
After some time, Margaret started to realise that her husband was behaving strangely, maybe because due to side effects of the war or to the fact that he suffered from malaria during the war.
Joseph finally admitted that before he married her, he was married with Anna, an Italian with whom he never had children.
Margaret became confused and since her husband cheated when he married her, she decided to leave him.
