Charles Caruana Biography
Charles Caruana was born in Pieta, Malta, on 24th November 1981. He had the passion of drawing and painting from early childhood. During his secondary Scholastic years he took Art as an optional subject. He studied and practiced several artistic techniques under Mr Azzopardi and Mr P. Buhagiar. He attended a course at the School of Arts, Valletta, Malta in order to learn the technique of painting with oil colours on canvas.
Charles studied Art at an Intermediate Level under well-known artist Mr Paul Vella Critien while History of Art under Mr E. V. Borg. After two years of studying and practicing Art and design, he obtained good result in his final exams.
Previous, Present and Future Exhibitions
With the assistance of his tutors, he participated in various art competitions. A competition that was of great success to him, amongst others, was when he took part in a competition which was organised by the School of Arts in Malta whereby he participated in a children's Art Exhibition in Japan. In this exhibition, children from all around the world participated. It was of great success to Charles as he won the second prize.
Presently he paints mostly with oil and acrylic colours on canvas and with pencils on paper. The former two mediums are the ones that he learnt to use in his early years and continued developing his artistic talent by reading, experimenting and practicing. He offers the service of fine art oil reproductions, portraits from photos, landscapes on canvas/paper in any size you prefer. Furthermore he can paint any famous painting or turn any photo including family photo/s into an oil painting/s.
He is currently painting the Grandmaster Ferdinand Von Hompesch (German) with oil colours on canvas. The measurement of the canvas is 100cm by 150cm.
